Title: Spin Liquid Condensate of Spinful Bosons
(Submitted on 3 Jan 2014 (this version), latest version 21 Aug 2014 (v2))
Abstract: We introduce the concept of a bosonic spin liquid condensate (SLC), where spinful bosons in a lattice form a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) which is a total spin singlet and does not break the spin rotation symmetry. It has an energy gap to all spin excitations. The realization of this SLC requires the spin of the bosons to be $S\ge2$. We give the phase diagram for the spin $2$ case using a variational wave function method, and verify the existence of an SLC phase. We show there is a direct analogy between SLC and the resonating-valence-bond (RVB) state.
