Title: Cryptographic Quantum Bound on Nonlocality
(Submitted on 2 May 2016 (v1), revised 19 Oct 2016 (this version, v3), latest version 3 Feb 2017 (v6))
Abstract: Information causality states that the information obtainable by a receiver cannot be greater than the communication bits from a sender, even if they utilize nonlocal quantum resources. This physical principle successfully explains some boundaries between quantum and post-quantum nonlocal correlations, where the obtainable information reaches the maximum limit. However, some of quantum resources (e.g., a partially entangled state) produce randomness (or noise) in the communication bits, and the obtainable information is reduced. We show that such randomness clearly limits the strength of nonlocal correlations by extending the so-called Tsirelson inequality and a necessary condition for respecting the information causality principle. This limitation reflects the cryptographic principle that a completely scrambled message cannot carry information.
