Title: Blow-up criteria for the Navier-Stokes equations in non-endpoint critical Besov spaces
(Submitted on 14 Dec 2016 (this version), latest version 8 May 2018 (v3))
Abstract: We prove a new blow-up criterion for the Navier-Stokes equations in Besov spaces. Namely, if the maximal time of existence $T^*$ is finite for some Schwartz initial datum, then the non-endpoint critical Besov norms must become infinite:
\[ \lim_{t \nearrow T^*} \lVert v(\cdot,t)\rVert_{\dot B^{-1+3/p}_{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^3)} = \infty, \]
$3 < p,q < \infty$.
This is a natural extension of the results of Seregin and Gallagher-Koch-Planchon. Our proof is based on elementary splitting arguments and energy estimates. In particular, we do not use the profile decomposition approach of Gallagher, et al.
