Title: The $3+3$ neutrino mass state model revisited: Was there an 8 MeV supernova (anti)neutrino line from SN 1987A?
(Submitted on 2 Jan 2017 (v1), revised 19 Apr 2017 (this version, v6), latest version 23 Feb 2018 (v10))
Abstract: Here we revisit an unconventional $3+3$ model of the neutrino mass eigenstates which is shown to predict an 8 MeV line in the neutrino/antineutrino spectrum from Type II supernovae. It is further shown that experimental and theoretical support can be found for such a line. In an appendix more support for the 3+3 model is provided by showing that several alternative explanations of the good fits it gave to three direct mass experiments in a previous publication are implausible. Finally it is shown that the KATRIN experiment should be able to resolve the matter of the model's validity in only two days of data taking.
