Title: Gravitational waves from non-abelian gauge fields at a tachyonic transition
(Submitted on 7 Jun 2017 (this version), latest version 9 Apr 2018 (v2))
Abstract: We compute numerically the gravitational wave spectrum from a tachyonic preheating transition of a Standard Model-like SU(2)-Higgs system. We find two peaks corresponding to the Higgs and gauge field mass, respectively. The peak magnitude of the spectrum with and without gauge fields is similar, but the gauge fields lead to a further suppression of the gravitational wave signal in the IR region. The far IR is expected to be the relevant range for observations, and so we confirm that a tachyonic transition in the early Universe will not be detectable by LISA, also when involving non-abelian gauge fields.
