Title: A note on Single-field Inflation and the Swampland Criteria
(Submitted on 11 Sep 2018 (this version), latest version 2 Apr 2019 (v2))
Abstract: Recently proposed Swampland Criteria, by Obied, Ooguri, Spodyneiko and Vafa, have put a question mark on realisation of single-field inflationary models, especially because one of the two criteria jeopardises the slow-roll condition ($\epsilon<1$) of inflation and is in tension with the present observational upper bound of the tensor-to-scalar ratio as well. Apart from the recently proposed scenario with non-Bunch-Davies initial conditions, by Brahma and Hossain, which help put single-field inflation back on track, we show that there are couple other scenarios of single-field models which can evade the tensions between the Swampland Criteria, the slow-roll condition and the observables. In particular, we note that Warm Inflation is one of the most desired scenarios as long as lifting the tensions with Swampland Criteria is concerned.
