Title: Chronons in M-theory and F-theory

Abstract: We consider a model originally proposed in the framework of supergravity in singular spaces. This model is considered as a good summary of the expected features of M-theory and F-theory. The chronon is identified as the fundamental degree of freedom of Nature. The physics of time is discussed in some detail. Some of the possible phenomenological consequences of this scenario are analyzed.
