Title: Use of a spoof plasmon to optimize the coupling of infrared radiation to Josephson Junction fluxon oscillations
(Submitted on 8 Jan 2020)
Abstract: We show that Infrared radiation impinging onto a 1-d array of grooves drilled in the superconductor electrode of a long overlap junction can improve matching between fluxon oscillations at THz frequencies and a spoof plasmon of comparable wavelength. This example proves that metamaterials can be very helpful in integrating superconductive and subwavelength optical circuits with optimized matching bridging the gap between infrared and microwave radiation.
