Title: Surface-localized transmission eigenstates, super-resolution imaging and pseudo surface plasmon modes
(Submitted on 5 Mar 2020 (v1), revised 9 Mar 2020 (this version, v2), latest version 15 Dec 2020 (v7))
Abstract: We present an intriguing discovery of certain surface/curve-localized transmission eigenstates associated with the Helmholtz equation or the Schr\"odinger equation under generic scenarios. The existence of such localized eigenstates is topologically very robust against large deformation or even twisting of the material interface, while the eigenstates themselves are topologically sensitive to the material interface. We consider their applications in producing a super-resolution imaging scheme and generating the so-called pseudo surface plasmon resonant (PSPR) modes with a potential sensing application.
