Title: Non-diagonal contributions to $ZγV^\ast$ vertex and bounds on $Z\overline{t}q$ couplings
(Submitted on 31 Mar 2022)
Abstract: The non-diagonal contributions to the trilinear gauge bosons couplings $Z\gamma V^\ast$ ($V=Z$, $\gamma$) at the one-loop level are calculated through complex flavor changing neutral currents mediated by the $Z$ boson. We find that it is not possible to induce non-diagonal contributions to the vertex $Z\gamma\gamma^\ast$ using these couplings. On the other hand, for the vertex $Z\gamma Z^\ast$ only the $CP$-conserving form factor $h_3^Z$ is generated. Constrains on the $Z\overline{t}c$ couplings are obtained from the most recent limits on the branching ratio $t\rightarrow Zq$ decays. Our new bounds are $|g_{\text{V}}^{tu}|\text{,}|g_{\text{A}}^{tu}|\leqslant 0.011$ and $|g_{\text{V}}^{tc}|\text{,}|g_{\text{A}}^{tc}|\leqslant 0.016$ in terms of the vector and axial couplings, whereas in terms of the coefficients of the effective field theory framework these bounds are $|C^{(1+3)}_{\phi \mu}|\text{,}|C^{-(1+3)}_{\phi q}|\leqslant 0.2$ and $|C^{(2+3)}_{\phi \mu}|\text{,}|C^{-(2+3)}_{\phi q}|\leqslant 0.28$. In both cases, our new limits are tighter than those reported in the literature. It is found that the relevant contributions for the real part of the $CP$-conserving form factor arise from the quarks up and down, whereas the imaginary part only receives non-vanishing contributions from quarks up. Our results are in general of order $10^{-6}-10^{-7}$, but they could be one order of magnitude bigger for the upper limits of the $Z\overline{t}c$ coupling.
