Title: Order and Disorder in the GOY Model of Turbulence : a semiclassical analysis

Abstract: A stochastic extension of the Gledzer-Ohkitani-Yamada (GOY) shell model of turbulence, envisioning the turbulent flow in the inertial range as a superposition of intense bursts interacting with self-induced small-scale fluctuations, is solved by instanton techniques in the limit of small noise width. The results are shown to account in a quite satisfactory manner for the statistics of coherent structures deduced from full simulations of the GOY model performed at very high Reynolds numbers Re, in the range of scales $\Lambda =Re^{-1/2}>l>\eta =Re^{-3/4}$.
