Title: Pareto Law in a Kinetic Model of Market with Random Saving Propensity
(Submitted on 16 Jan 2003 (this version), latest version 27 Jan 2004 (v3))
Abstract: We consider the recently introduced ideal-gas model of a trading market, where each agent is identified as a gas molecule and each trading as one elastic or money conserving (two-body) collision and introduce (quenched) random saving propensity of the agents. The system remarkably self-organises to a `critical' Pareto-distribution of money $P(m)\sim m^{-(1+\nu)}$ with $\nu \simeq 1.0$. The robustness of the distribution has also been discussed.
