Title: Grand unfication models from SO(32) heterotic string

Abstract: Grand unification groups (GUTs) are constructed from SO(32) heterotic string via Z(12-I) orbifold compactification. This invites the SO(32) heterotic string very useful for future phenomenological studies. Here, spontaneous symmetry breaking by Higgsing is achieved by the anti-symmetric tensor representations of SU(N). We obtain these fields. We realize chiral representations: ${\bf 36}\oplus 5\cdot\bar{\bf 9} $ for a SU(9) GUT and $3\cdot{\bf 10}'_L\oplus 3\cdot\bar{\bf 5}'_L$ for a SU(5)$'$ GUT. The details for the spectra calculation are present without any computer help, which is possible in the simplest Z(12-I) orbifold.
