Title: Maximal log Fano manifolds are generalized Bott towers

Abstract: We prove that maximal log Fano manifolds are generalized Bott towers. As an application, we prove that in each dimension, there is a unique maximal snc Fano variety satisfying Friedman's d-semistability condition.
