Title: A Inequality for Non-Microstates Free Entropy Dimension for Crossed Products by Finite Abelian Groups

For certain generating sets of the subfactor pair $M\subset M\rtimes G$ where $G$ is a finite abelian group we prove an approximate inequality between their non-microstates free entropy dimension, resembling the Shreier formula for ranks of finite index subgroups of free groups. As an application, we give bounds on free entropy dimension of generating sets of crossed products of the form $M\rtimes(\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z})^{\oplus\infty}$ for a large class of algebras $M$.

Title: Parseval Frames from Compressions of Cuntz Algebras

A row co-isometry is a family $(V_i)_{i=0}^{N-1}$ of operators on a Hilbert space, subject to the relation $$\sum_{i=0}^{N-1}V_iV_i^*=I.$$ As shown in \cite{BJK00}, row co-isometries appear as compressions of representations of Cuntz algebras.
In this paper we will present some general constructions of Parseval frames for Hilbert spaces, obtained by iterating the operators $V_i$ on a finite set of vectors. The constructions are based on random walks on finite graphs. As applications of our constructions we obtain Parseval Fourier bases on self-affine measures and Parseval Walsh bases on the interval. \end{abstract}

The bispectral problem is motivated by an effort to understand and extend a remarkable phenomenon in Fourier analysis on the real line:
the operator of time-and-band limiting is an integral operator admitting a second-order differential operator with a simple spectrum in its commutator.
In this article, we discuss a noncommutative version of the bispectral problem, obtained by allowing all objects in the original formulation to be
matrix-valued. Deep attention is given to bispectral algebras and their presentations as a tool to get information about bispectral triples.

The $k$-power preservers are necessarily $k$-potent preservers, and the case $k=2$ corresponds to Jordan homomorphisms. Applying the results, we characterize maps $\phi,\psi:V\to V$ that satisfy "$ \operatorname{tr}(\phi(A)\psi(B)^k)=\operatorname{tr}(AB^k)$ for all $A\in V$, $B\in S$, and $\psi$ is linear" or "$ \operatorname{tr}(\phi(A)\psi(B)^k)=\operatorname{tr}(AB^k)$ for all $A, B\in S$ and both $\phi$ and $\psi$ are linear." The characterizations systematically extend existing results in literature, and they have many applications in areas like quantum information theory. Some structural theorems and power series over matrices are widely used in our characterizations.
