Title: A Way to Understand the Mass Generation
(Submitted on 28 Jan 2013 (v1), revised 28 Jul 2014 (this version, v6), latest version 3 Nov 2015 (v8))
Abstract: Assuming that the $SU_c(3) \times SU_L(2) \times U(1) \times SU_f(3)$ Standard Model be complete, we could analyze some fundamental questions including the overall cancelations of quadratic divergences, the origin of masses, etc. The scalar fields $\Phi(1,2)$ (the Standard-Model Higgs), $\Phi(3,1)$ (the purely family Higgs), and $\Phi(3,2)$ (the mixed family Higgs; mainly the "project-out" neutral sector, as seen in the U-gauge), with the first family label and the second $SU_L(2)$ label, would do the desired job naturally (in the $3+1$ two-triplet scenario) - that is, with the Standard-Model $v^2$ the only big number (energy) such that all family gauge bosons in the GeV range, those family Higgs influenced by $v^2$ are heavy, and the phenomena of three generations, including neutrino oscillations, are there. The GeV or sub-fermi $SU_f(3)$ family gauge theory protects charged leptons from the QED Landau ghost and make them asymptotically free. We also examine the recent conjecture of cancelations of ultraviolet (quadratic and logarithmic) divergences Thus, we believe that it would be the minimal way to complete the minimal Standard Model.
