Title: A PDE hierarchy for directed polymers in random environments
(Submitted on 7 Feb 2020 (this version), latest version 31 Aug 2021 (v3))
Abstract: For a Brownian directed polymer in a Gaussian random environment, where $q(t,\cdot)$ is the quenched endpoint density and $Q_n(t,x_1,\ldots,x_n)=\mathbf{E}[q(t,x_1)\ldots q(t,x_n)]$, we derive a hierarchical PDE system satisfied by $\{Q_n\}_{n\geq1}$. In $d=1$ and for the case of a spacetime white noise environment, we study a nonlocal reaction-diffusion equation that is related to the generator of $\{\mu_t(dx)=q(t,x)dx\}_{t\geq0}$, viewed as a Markov process taking values in the space of probability measures, and establish super-diffusive behavior with the spreading occurring on the scale $O(t^{2/3})$.
