Title: Sensitivities to secret neutrino interaction at FASER$ν$
(Submitted on 22 Mar 2020 (this version), latest version 17 Jun 2021 (v2))
Abstract: We study the effects of the coupling of neutrinos with a new light neutral gauge boson, $Z^\prime$, with a mass of less than 40 MeV. Scenarios in which a light gauge boson is coupled to neutrinos are motivated within various contexts which are designed to explain various anomalies in particle physics and cosmology. This interaction can lead to a new decay mode for charged mesons to a light lepton plus neutrino and $Z^\prime$, ($M\to l\nu Z^\prime$), and decay of $Z^\prime$ to the pair of neutrino and anti-neutrino, ($Z^\prime \to \nu\bar{\nu}$), subsequently. FASER$\nu$ experiment which is a proposed emulsion detector designed to detect collider neutrinos for the first time. The FASER$\nu$ emulsion detector will provide the possibility to detect $\nu_\tau$ and to measure their energies. Using this ability of FASER$\nu$ emulsion detector, we study the potential of FASER$\nu$ experiment to constrain the coupling of neutrino with the light gauge boson.
