Title: Intrinsic torques emerging from anomalous velocity in magnetic textures
(Submitted on 31 May 2021 (this version), latest version 5 Jan 2022 (v2))
Abstract: We present a theory of the intrinsic torques that exert on magnetic textures regardless of nonequilibrium transport current, under strong spin-orbit coupling in such as topological insulators and Weyl semimetals. We classify the electrically induced torques phenomenologically and discuss the contribution from the anomalous velocity via spin-momentum locking, which arises from momentum-space topology and is insensitive to disorder or thermal fluctuation. We especially point out the intrinsic contribution arising only in magnetic textures, which we call the "topological Hall torque (THT)". The THT emerges in bulk crystals without any interface or surface structures. We numerically demonstrate the enhancement of the THT in comparison with the conventional spin-transfer torque in the bulk metallic ferromagnet, due to pair creation and annihilation of Weyl points.
