Title: Globally balancing two spanning trees
(Submitted on 26 Oct 2021 (this version), latest version 8 Aug 2022 (v3))
Abstract: If a graph $G$ contains two edge-disjoint spanning trees $T_1,T_2$ with $E(T_1)\cup E(T_2)=E(G)$, we say that $G$ is a double tree and $(T_1,T_2)$ is a spanning tree factorization of $G$. We show that every double tree has a spanning tree factorization $(T_1,T_2)$ such that $|d_{T_1}(v)-d_{T_2}(v)|\leq 5$ for all $v \in V(G)$. This resolves a special case of a conjecture of Kriesell.
