Title: Space-time position operator as a generalized Noether charge

Abstract: To investigate space-time position operator in relativistic quantum theory, a characteristic space-time coordinate describing average space-time position of field quanta is introduced. It plays the role of a generalized Noether charge associated with a local U(1) symmetry, and its second quantization picture shows that a quantum field has a zero-point time, which is related to the zero-point energy of the field via the time-energy uncertainty principle.
