Title: Collective dynamics of dense disordered polar active matter
(Submitted on 31 May 2022 (this version), latest version 23 Jan 2024 (v3))
Abstract: Considering only leading interactions, as excluded volume effects and a minimal alignment rule, we show that polar order displays the typical features of second-order phase transitions in a two-dimensional disordered active system. Besides causing collective motion, the alignment interaction drives the fluidification of the active glass and the dynamical slowing down of the polar phase. Finally, we observe that the polar order destroys active phase separation, producing homogeneous, disordered moving configurations.
